There’s something inherently appealing and carnal about shooting painful paint pellets at 280 feet per second at your friends. The whole act of teamwork, running, hiding, taking cover, completing mission objectives, wearing a cool mask and having a solid ‘weapon’ in your hands will make ANYONE feel alive. And it’s so much fun to boot!
We had a pretty big session (my 2nd) at Xtion Paintball Park in Bukit Jalil last weekend. There were 13 of us, played a total of 4 rounds – twice at an urban playground scenario, and twice more at the inflatable bunker field.
Anyway, to cut all the long story short, here are some of the photos from that day..

The female posse – Simone, Sukie, Immi & Jess (Meiz.. you are categorized under ‘gf’ requiring babysitting)

Gary (not in photo) explaining to us the rules and mechanics of the game. Note that Jess isn’t paying attention.

While some people were suiting up, some others were busy checking others out.

Woopeedoodee. My 2 teammates Vince & Ash.

Jess – wounded in the eye. See lar, never pay attention during briefing.. hahaha..
Hehe, no need for me to go into details on the outcome each round (my outnumbered team lost 3 times out of 4 haha).

All of us together now! From L-R: Roy, Meiz, Simone, FoOie, Immi, Melvin, Sukie, NicT, Jess, Ash, Vince, Kelvin, Henry

My SonGoku hairdo after removing my cap and mask at the end of it all. And that’s Sukie playing a fool

Chilling together after the entire thing. Exchanging war stories (amounting to “I hit you! You shot me! We’ve got no ammo! My gun didn’t work!) & showing off our battle wounds.
OoO.. Battle scars were aplenty. Henry had a badd blister on his exposed arm, Melvin had a neck shot, and Meiz was complaining someone shot her ‘ovary’. Don’t worry Meiz – according to insurance statistics, Paintball is one of the safest sports in existence – even more so than tennis. You won’t go barren, besides, you have another.
I’m sure NicT has a splattering of blueblacks all over his torso too considering that me and a few others unloaded point blank at him during his last kamikaze rush.
I myself got hit smack at my sternum, my back (both of which were mild coz the pellets never exploded) and my upper thigh which has a nice bruise. Another 2 more inches to the left, and I shudder to think what I might be going through now.
A big thanks to NicT for initiating and organizing this kickass outing. We MUST go again. SOON.
And this time, I shall be better prepared.
So who else have war stories to tell or battle wounds to brag?

I’ve contacted TT Sports Park in Subang. They have better fields and cheaper rates. If we can manage 20 ppl for the next round, and for RM 100 each, we get the usual gear and 2-3 hours of play as well as 400 pellets each. For 150 we each get 700 pellets. go figure.
FoOie on November 24, 2007
700 pellets!
Me thinks we need minigun.
