Roy : Hey Foo, umm.. are you up for an adventure ar?
FoOie : Adventure? sure man, whats up?
Roy : Well, I have to go down to Pangkor tomorrow to reccy a place for an event I’m organizing, you wanna come along?
FoOie : Tomorrow? alright, count me in!
Yeah, thats more or less what happened minus the nitty details – it was a spontaneous trip planned only 1 day in advance with many of the rest confirming attendance just a few hours before the journey.
Note : It seems like most of my posts are starting to sound like echos of Fei’s Blog..
We drove down in 2 cars – bloody journey took an exceptionally long 3-4 hours of driving.

Let’s just say that the trip wasn’t entirely what anyone of us expected. The Resort Manager had to fetch all 5 of us in his little Kancil, and as the resort was fully booked that night, he had to put us up at an apartment nearby. The conditions were so bad there, I was tempted to just walk out and pay to stay somewhere else (but we did have lots of fun laughing at our misfortunes
).
- There was no toilet paper. Instead, there was this suspicious orange hose attached to the tap in the bathtub. Kinda like what you see in public coffee shop toilets…
- No water heater, no shower either. Oh wait, got.. just that metal thing protruding from the toilet wall..
- There was a cockroach in Roy & Steph’s room. Management came up with Shieldtox and started spraying it EVERYWHERE in the living room (instead of asking where the pest was). Whole place stank of insecticide after…
- Cockroach didn’t die – it flipped out into the living room, and continued flipping and flipping until Roy came and SMEARED it into the carpet with his shoe..
- The other bedroom’s lights (yellow) were sooo dim, it’s like the scene of some cheap prostitute den, or some potentially haunted room with a dark past.. Aircond had this strange tendency of switching itself off. Curtains, sofas, carpet all had strange stains. Spooky…
Anyway, Roy must have felt pretty bad for all of us, so he went to complain to get a better room, and thankfully we got to switch. At the very least, I got a good night’s sleep in the newer apartment.
We did manage to make the trip a little worthwhile the next morning, as we all went island hopping!

Jacq enjoying the sun, sea and wind..

Me & Fei all tussled up..

These 2 were practically inseparable throughout the entire trip hehe – so romantic

Freshened up, got back to the jetty, queued like mad to get on the ferry back to Lumut, and drove another 3 hours for a late lunch at Bidor to try the famous ‘Pun Chun’ Duck Noodles there.

Braised duck in this zesty herbal ginger soup which was reallllly yummy.
And then I sped home. What a weekend!
