    Resident Evil : Extinction (2007)

    Resident Evil : Extinction Poster

Watched this earlier this morning at 1U GSC with Roy, Immi, Su Wei, Meiz, Jeff & Henry. Didn’t really have any expectations, so I could honestly say it was pretty entertaining. Well, entertaining in the sense that you have some interesting action packed scenes, gorgeous ladies, a bleak futuristic sci fi setting with pretty decent special effects, and plenty of gore, violence and zombies!. Don’t expect anything more than that though. It’s got a horrible script, really lousy character development and ZERO plot. Still fun nonetheless – Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter.. drools… :P

    Nightmare Detective (2006)

A Japanese horror with an interesting premise… It’s generally about this person who is capable of entering peoples dreams, helping the police out with a number of baffling suicides where the victims seem to have killed themselves in their sleep. If I have one thing to say about this movie – it’s that it is beautifully shot and directed. There are some very interesting effects, especially the terrifying psychotic killer chase sequences and transition between the real world and dream states. However, things get really messy near the end, as the movie jumps around a little too much and gets pretty indulgent and confusing (why do Japanese movies like to do that??). It’s still worth a watch though if you are a fan of the genre – and even more so because a sequel is scheduled for release next year. :)
