Well, look at it this way..

Criticism of humanity, childishness and a mockery of man's ego: the need to be right. I'm assuming in this case that Jamie Foxx's character's ego, or the FBI's were the ones that needed to be satiated - and boy oh boy did they get their vengeance even going against their very own senator's wishes. If they really wanted to argue on those 3 points you mentioned, there are many better movies out there that do a better job at it: Crash, Babel and even City of God if you want to talk about violence.

The whole eye for an eye perspective only came about at the very last part.. that last 'line' delivered which came off to me as pretty much a horrible attempt to inject some depth into an otherwise action movie.

It would have been a whole lot more meaningful had the team suffered casualties in their shootout, instead of walking out of it all smug and righteous. But noo.. America is correct. Might is right.

Violence is perpetuated when governments and religions practice complete disregard towards the welfare of citizens of different countries and practitioners of different faiths. On one hand, you have terrorists brainwashing their kids into thinking murder is right. On the other, you have movies like these being shown in cinemas all around the world subliminally brainwashing everyone into thinking that violence is the right way to counter terrorism. The movie might not have made it explicitly so - but the general gist of it is there - Americans enter hostile territory, locates terrorists responsible, blows them all to 'kingdom' come.

Americans comes first, everyone else deal with it. That's just how it is. The whole "I'm an American citizen" is supposed to grant them special privileges. Kill one of 'us' and you invite the wrath of 'our' entire country. We have the right to kill all of you though with impunity (AND WE WILL). woohoo! if that's not American propaganda, I don't know what is.

Disagree with you regarding "The Kingdom".
I personally felt it was more of a criticism on the lack of humanity, childishness and a mockery of man's ego: the need to be right.

It puts the saying "An eye for an eye makes the world blind" into perspective, in addition to hinting the grim: That murderers come in all shapes, ages and sizes and races.

It also questions the age old debate whether violence is inbred, or is it nurtured through the generations. "The Kingdom" aims to give the impression that violence is nurtured within families, before spreading like a vile epidemic, reaching its claws to every corner of the globe.

p/s : Interesting poster for "Premonition" though :)
