Had a pretty cool adventure with Immi on Friday night.
We first headed to our primary destination – Pantai Morib. There was nothing there. Just a steep rock abutment, some guys singing to themselves really loudly, a stench, and no sight of the sea whatsoever. We then decided to head to Pantai Kelanang which was just 1-2 km north of Morib.
It was a crazy stretch of a drive. Super narrow road, no lights, surrounded on all sides by trees and darkness. I was just wondering if I was entering the twilight zone, when suddenly without warning, we burst into a car park clearing that was fully lit up.
It was ultra low tide that night, there was no moon at all in the sky. No stars either. No sight of the sea, not even the sound of waves. So we decided to go hunting for the sea – and started trekking out into the darkness…

Yess.. it was that dark. Anyone could run out into the darkness and you would have difficulty finding them even with a torchlight.
We trudged and trudged through sickening pungent mud. And eventually reached some shallow waves lapping at our feet. In 5 minutes however, it was gone again.. and we had to trek more to catch up with it. We gave up eventually. We couldn’t even hear the waves after awhile. And we were very dangerously far out in the middle of nowhere on the sea bed.

This was how far we walked from the shore..

And how dark it really was.. (I had to boost the contrast on this pic so you could make out the surroundings)

Looking cool..

Taking a break..
It was only later that I realized how treacherous it was.. there could easily have been ’sinkholes’ or patches of ‘quicksand’ so far out at sea.. We made our way back to the car, washed our feet and headed home..
What a surreal experience..

littlepolaris : hehe.. we actually wanted a nice beachside chat.. you know.. sit on the sand, listen to the waves.. mane tahu.. dont have sand and dont have waves pulak..
Pantai Morib & Pantai Kelanang are supposed to be nearer than PD but we took the super long way instead, and it ended up not making much of a difference..
Mischique : Pantai Morib used to be the happening beach during our parents days I think.. its very near Banting which u can get to by going through Klang. Pantai Kelanang is an effort from the government to ‘revive’ the place, but still very sad case lar

mischique: it’s a new stretch of beach developed by the state govt to “develop” the local tourism industry.
littlepolaris: curi ayam la. wat else? sumore so dark. perfect! ahahha.
