Went late to the Sunrise Jazz Festival on Friday (24.08.07) cause I fell asleep after dinner 
. When I arrived, Sheila Majid had already finished one song, and I was just in time to catch the rest of her performance. I was stunned by how packed it was.. 
Spent a little time at a table that Jacq and Andrew got near Secret Recipe. Bumped into Jennifer and her friend Keat Seong there too.. , then I couldn’t resist myself and went to the open area in front of the stage, which by now was crowded with both fans and photographers hehe.
She’s still as gorgeous as ever (a little plumper now), and still very much a diva, despite having already given birth to 4 kids. Her youngest kid was only born earlier this year in April! Her 2 older kids (Megat & Kayda) also had a short performing stint on the stage with her while her husband Acis was the musical director and was manning the main keyboards that night.
There’s no resisting the urge to want to sing along, or move to her songs (even if its just bobbing to the faster beats like ‘Sinaran’ or swaying to her slower ballads). I felt a twang of regret for not remembering the lyrics to her songs (even her better hits) otherwise I would have enjoyed the show so much more. It’s a wonderful sensation hearing a crowd that large singing along to her all time greatest hits ESPECIALLY Legenda. At least I remembered the chorus to that one
Definitely one of Malaysia’s greatest singers of all time. It’s good to know she’s still such a strong performer.
Despite this NOT being really Jazz.. I still loved the show nonetheless and was glad that I didn’t miss it.
