SkyBar at Trader’s Hotel

It was my first ever trip to SkyBar (located at the roof top of Trader’s Hotel). The plan was to go there with Immi and meet Hong, Jeff and Pav. Pav’s an architect from London travelling to Malaysia for the first time - and everyone thought SkyBar would be a great place for him to visit.

Well, he was pretty impressed with the whole setup - and I think I kinda fell in love with it too. If you’ve never been there, the following photos will show you why.. :)

The group..

In comparison with the very similar Luna Bar (Pacific Regency’s rooftop), SkyBar has the advantage of being much newer. They also have a DJ that spins house & progressive house which I love. Sadly though, there isn’t a real dance floor..

Another good thing going for it is that SkyBar does not impose a cover charge while Luna Bar does after a certain hour.

Both places are equally cosy - Luna Bar has better sofas, SkyBar has better cushion mats and they both have breathtaking views.

Their service level has improved by miles from the review in www.xes.cx almost a year ago.

All in all, it’s definitely a place I would not mind going back to again. :)

Dragged myself out of bed to join the group from last night for a karaoke session at RedBox @ The Curve.

We then dropped by at The Apartment for some coffee and tea. The portobello mushrooms and chocolate mousse + drinks we ordered were delightful (but no photos unfortunately :P)

Well, Pav is leaving back to the UK tomorrow, and I hope he had a great time in Malaysia. :)

They have great food at The Apartment! I went there for the first time last Saturday. It was great! XD

Hey there…great night shots. By the way you should try out Luna Bar. It’s supposedly better compared to Skyy Bar.

Peridot : Yup, the food at The Apartment surprised me. Pretty dang good. :) I didn’t exactly have a bad encounter with the service - but there was this instance when my friend from UK wanted to take a photo with one of the waitresses.. she ran away and never came back. LOL.

Mischique : I used to work in the same building as Luna Bar, and had experience organizing an event there :) Both have good and bad points I think - though I currently enjoy SkyBar more for its novelty factor.. :D

The food kinda makes up for the service when i went there…once taste the food we forget about the service already :P

Peridot : yup yup :) But I think the company is often the most important thing of all when dining out :)

hey i like sky bar, lots, but i still think luna has already re-instated itself as “i am so classy you want to be me” thinG. i just went there once to recee should Go and chill sometime - hey miss ya foo!

littlepolaris : You can still go to SkyBar mar.. with your friends :) You’re flying off on Oct 3rd right? I can take you if you want (if you dare to meet me lar haha).. As for my camera, I’m just using an Olympus mju 770SW.. and just for you, I think I’ll write a post about it in my next entry ;)
