Headed up to Genting at 4pm with Jacq for some very much needed cool weather.

Stopped at Chin Swee temple on the way up. Didn’t explore much though - will do it when both Woon Wai and Andrew are free to come up with us.. In ‘Lim Goh Tong’s Hall’ however were some personal collections of huge statues and carvings of deities brought back from different Asian countries.

Rubbed some Laughing Buddhas’ tummies for good luck!

This one was just plain scary.

Time was running short, so up to Genting we went. Settled at Coffee Bean and got ourselves a Caramel Latte, Hot Chocolate & Chocolate Fudge Cake..

At around 7+, headed down to Gohtong Jaya for some kick-ass food - Jacq’s recommendation. Fried pork (lard & skin) in black sauce and onions, and the highlight - Claypot frog tung hoon noodles, in a rich ginger, chinese wine, chilli padi & lettuce broth. Washed it down with some sweetened chrysanthemum tea..

Ta-paued some snacks (durian pancakes and chicken biscuits) before heading straight to Andrea’s place to watch Babel. I thought it was totally deserving of the awards and nominations it got - it had a superb screenplay and some of the best directed scenes I’ve ever seen in any movie. However, the story was tragic and painstakingly draining to follow in a gut-wrenching way. Despite not really fitting into the mood of my day, I’d still highly recommended it nonetheless..

Went for A&W root beer floats with Jacq after the movie before heading home. All in all, it was another satisfying weekend.. :)
