Watched Mr. Bean’s Holiday (2007) and Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny (2006) over the last 2 days.
2 STUPID comedies back to back. Don’t get me wrong.. Stupid is a GOOD term in these instances. 
I’m currently suffering from writer’s block due to overexposure to stupidity. Here’s just a character analysis between the 2 leads.
Mr. Bean
- Childishly innocent & brainless.
- Can be the MOST inconsiderate asshole on this planet, but has a hidden soft & caring side.
- Doesn’t speak much. Doesn’t need to.
- Invincible (I believe he’s not really from this planet)
- Blessed - despite the shit he gets into, everything works out for him in the end. All the time.
100 times better than its previous Americanized 1997 movie. This Bean sure brings back lots of old memories from the original series. 
Jack Black
- A total utter buffoon.
- Ego centric, think’s he’s God’s gift to the world.
- Maddeningly profane. It’s next to impossible for him to express himself without a nice fuck.
- Fortunately for him, he get’s his way as he’s surrounded by complete utter buffoons too (Aren’t they all in Hollywood?).
- Defeated Sat-anus with the most corniest move in the world.
This is strictly only for Jack Black fans. Do NOT expect School of Rock (which was superior to this). As I was not exposed to Jack Black’s first Tenacious D movie, or his TV series, I might missed a number of the gags in the movie. But the Clockwork Orange & Sasquatch scene was pretty funny though 
Verdict
Mr. Bean’s Holiday wins hands down for being the better crafted, family friendly, true to the original, and more satisfying movie of the two.
Special credit goes to Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny for having a higher rewatchability, lots of special effects, make-up, music, weed and the most WTF moments thanks to its lewdness and vulgarity (which isn’t that bad a thing really.. just makes it too crude to swallow).
