Went to cozy little No Black Tie for the Indie Brew last Wednesday night with Airin. The place was pretty packed! 3 bands played that night..

Furniture opened the show. Having gotten acquainted with the tracks on their album over the last few weeks, it was great hearing them play their tracks live, especially with the much better acoustics at No Black Tie (compared to the other gig venues).

Tama and Vagabond came up next. Pete Teo apparently met them at Busan (Korea), and decided to bring them down to perform here. It was their first time in Malaysia. And they brought the house down. I didn’t understand a word of Korean, but the band played a blend of classic rock and pop (equipped with a trombone player even) that got everyone up and moving to their music. Great crowd interaction from the lead Tama too.
Bought their album as a sign of support.. and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please bring more bands like this here! We definitely need the exposure and the variety.

And of course, Reza Salleh and friends. No stranger to his songs by now, but still, the sound system at No Black Tie again made everything sound twice as good as before.

It was one of the better gigs I’ve been to in a loong while. ![]()
