I slept away most of my New Year’s Eve after the busy previous day at Genting with The Life Changing Party…
Woke up in the late evening, and decided to go on a last minute trip down to The Pavillion to watch I Am Legend with Faz. We followed Nish’s mum’s car down, thus leaving me car-less for once in my life on New Year’s Eve..

The movie was pretty interesting and intense at the beginning, but begins to lose its appeal about 3 quarters through. I hate how Hollywood always try to make monsters more terrifying by making them open their mouths as wide as possible (think of The Mummy) and make lame screaming scounds. Honestly, it makes the baddies more annoying than scary. Not to mention that it doesn’t matter how rabid an infected one is - you CAN’T break a plexiglass wall by running into it or shred through metal for that matter. Bones will break and flesh splatter against such hard surfaces. Also, where are all the bodies (or bones) of the 99% people that died? Despite a good acting effort by Will Smith, I simply can’t rate a movie highly when it insults my intelligence. A ripoff from the much superior 28 Days/Weeks Later series.

After the movie, we headed straight to Bangkok Jazz to watch Nish’s band ‘Pocket Change’ perform some retro hits for the countdown. Have to say that despite a good show by the band, the sound setup was horrible (due no less to the lousy sound engineer that night), and the DJ was even worse.

We left the place soon after the countdown (thanks to some really bad song mixing by the DJ there), and drove through traffic to Lotus on Jalan Ampang for supper with a HUGE gang which consisted of (off the top of my head) Me, Faz, Tanya, Tanya’s Sis, Nisha, Feri, Infai, Christine, Zahfri, Farouk, Lawla, Fook, Juvyn, Seow, Melina, Izwin, Tarmizi, and the drummer plus indian dude whom I don’t know their names.
After supper at around 3am, we had some crazy idea to go to a cybercafe nearby to play Call of Duty 4! This game has been conquering the cybercafe world by storm lately, and I was pleasantly surprised to know that Faz and her friends played too. We ended up shooting away (+2 rounds of Dota) till 9am before we headed back.
I never thought I’d actually end up here!
That wasn’t the last of COD4 though, because on New Year’s Day (after yet another crazy catching up on sleep session and waking up at 6pm), another COD4 session was organized with NicT, Me, Faz, Roy, Ang, Chin Li, Lawla, Farouk, Ziet, WilliamC & Edmund at tBun Aman Suria.
Simply Excessive! What a way to usher in 2008. Lol.
